Highlights this week
From a live score to Birdman and a big K-pop bash to flamenco in the Alcazaba, rock tributes and meetups to make new friends, Málaga is back with a busy week. Here's what caught our eye from 14 to 20 September.
Live music
A week of standout openers. Drummer Antonio Sánchez performs his live score to Birdman at Teatro Echegaray on Monday (20:00, €36). On Saturday, the K-Beat Festival Málaga fills the Auditorio Municipal Cortijo de Torres with K-pop (from 16:30).
The Spanish line-up runs deep: 3 de corazones at Teatro Cervantes on Friday (20:00, €48), Blanca Paloma at La Cochera Cabaret on Friday (21:00), and Los Herrera at Sala París 15 on Thursday (20:00, €20).

Flamenco finds its home in the Alcazaba: Pituquete + Encarna Anillo on Thursday (21:30, €15) and guitarist Mabel Millán on Friday (21:30, €18). Also on the bill: Daniel Casares at Sala Fundación Unicaja María Cristina on Saturday (19:30, €12) and Daniel Zapico on Sunday (12:00, €15).
For rock and metal fans: China Crisis at Sala Trinchera on Thursday, Back to Glory Days at Sala París 15 on Saturday (21:00, €25), and a night of Iron Maiden and Ozzy Osbourne tributes at Sala Trinchera on Saturday (21:30, €12-15).
Stage & performing arts
The Festival de Cortos 2026 short-film gala takes place on Saturday at the Auditorio Curro Román in Playa Virginia (21:00). For laughs, IMPROPECHÁ brings improv theatre to La Polivalente on Monday (20:30) and La gran comedia de abrir el ojo plays Sala Joaquín Eléjar on Friday (20:00, €10).
Meetups & markets

The week is full of ways to meet people and learn. The Greencities smart-cities forum takes over FYCMA on Tuesday and Wednesday. There's a free solidarity tasting at La Fábrica on Monday (18:30), PowerTalks Málaga open house on Wednesday (19:00, free), the micro-reading club at Centre Pompidou on Thursday (18:00), and Friday's International Meetings at Terraza de San Telmo on Friday (21:30, €2).
