Highlights this week
From open-air concerts on the waterfront to flamenco legends, an opera at Teatro Cervantes and a Sunday market in the Soho, Málaga has a packed week ahead. Here's what caught our eye from 7 to 13 September.
Live music

The music calendar is the busiest it's been in weeks. Flamenco great Carmen Linares brings her 30th-anniversary anthology to Teatro del Soho CaixaBank on Saturday (20:00, €30). On Thursday, the Lyrical Gala with Carlos Álvarez and Sabina Puértolas lands at Teatro Cervantes (20:00, €18–54).
For something free and outdoors, Brisa Sessions with Plastic Woods Belinte plays Muelle Uno on Friday at 21:00. Indoors, Argentine favourites El Kuelgue (Thursday, Sala París 15, €30) and Descemer Bueno (Friday, Sala París 15, 21:00, €30) headline.

Nostalgia fans can relive the decade at Superstars 90 (Saturday, Auditorio Municipal Cortijo de Torres, 18:00, €30–45). Metalheads have two nights at Sala La Trinchera: a Metallica tribute by SaD on Friday and the Fully Alive Fest on Saturday (€18–22).
Rounding out the week: El Ñuki & Band open on Monday at La Polivalente (21:00, €6), classical guitarist Filip Miskovic plays a Sunday recital at the Fundación Unicaja (12:00, €10), and Ausiàs Parejo marks 150 years of Manuel de Falla with a concert inside the Alcazaba on Saturday (21:30, €15).
Stage & performing arts

Purcell's Dido and Aeneas closes the week at Teatro Cervantes on Sunday (19:00, €40–75). For lighter fare, the theatre piece Una Carretilla de Música runs both Saturday and Sunday at Sala Joaquín Eléjar (19:00, €12–15), and La Estoa hosts a free open-mic comedy night at Espacio Ahó on Friday (20:00).
Meetups & markets

Wind down on Sunday at the Mercado Urbano del Soho (from 11:00, free). During the week, drop into the free talk Beyond the Job Title at Innovation Campus (Wednesday, 19:00), the Malaga Game Creators meetup at the Polo de Contenidos Digitales (Friday, 19:00), a board games and language exchange at Palermo Coffee (Friday, 20:00), or a beachside Sunset — Beach, Beer & Bantz at El Palo (Saturday, 19:00).
